Braden Peters — the polarizing content creator known online as Clavicular — is finally addressing the health scare that had the internet buzzing for months.
The 20-year-old “looksmaxxing” streamer was rushed to a Miami hospital in April after appearing to lose consciousness mid-livestream, an incident widely characterized at the time as a suspected overdose. Now, Peters says that narrative was never accurate.
Speaking on Hang Out with Sean Hannity in an interview published Tuesday, Peters gave his most detailed account yet of what happened that night.
“I just literally had not eaten that day and consumed too much alcohol and just knocked out a bit,” he told Hannity. “I didn’t overdose or anything.”
He pushed back hard on the coverage that followed the incident.
“People are acting like they’ve never passed out from drinking a little too much at 20 years old,” Peters said. “Happens literally all the time in college, so it wasn’t a big thing. It got misreported.”
The livestream in question showed Peters seated beside fellow creator Androgenic, who could be heard asking, “When did you last take blue?” as Peters’ head slumped forward moments before the broadcast cut out. Clips circulated rapidly, and outlets reported that paramedics transported Peters to the hospital following a suspected overdose.
Peters’ account Tuesday (July 17, 2026) marks a notable shift in tone from statements he made in the immediate aftermath. During a May 13 sit-down with Logan Paul, he acknowledged he had been “overdoing” his relationship with “stimulants,” language that seemed to support the overdose reporting he’s now disputing.
The streamer has built a following of millions within the “looksmaxxing” community, a corner of the internet where young men pursue extreme measures to enhance their physical appearance. His platform has come with sustained controversy, including his repeated use of a racist slur on livestreams and open admissions of using illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, to maintain his physique.
Whether Tuesday’s remarks settle the matter for his critics remains to be seen. Peters has weathered a string of scandals this year beyond the hospitalization, including a combative exit from a 60 Minutes Australia interview and a misdemeanor battery arrest in Florida.
For now, Peters appears intent on rewriting the story of that April night — insisting it was exhaustion and alcohol, not an overdose, that put him in the hospital.
