Clavicular brought a dog to his rape arraignment. The dog did more talking than he did.
Braden Peters, the “looksmaxxing” influencer known as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Orleans District Court to one count of rape, one count of drugging someone for sexual intercourse and one count of procuring liquor for someone under 21. His attorney entered the plea on his behalf.
The 20-year-old showed up in an all-black suit, walking a dog on a leash, and ignored reporters while the pup barked at them. A court clerk said the animal is an emotional support dog.
Per TMZ, his name is Morris, and Peters’ team rescued him from Agoura Hills Animal Shelter several months ago. Morris wasn’t allowed in the courtroom, so a team member took him to a nearby Starbucks for a “pup cup.”
Peters spoke only to the dog on his way inside and kept a neutral face through the brief arraignment. The judge kept it simple: “Don’t commit another crime. You understand, sir.” Peters’ only statement in court: “Yes, your honor.”
Bail was set at $10,000. He must stay away from his accuser, can’t post about her on social media and has to turn in his passport. He’s due back on Nov. 24 for a probable cause hearing.
The allegations are grim. The alleged assault happened May 23, 2025, in Chatham, and the accuser was 17.
She told police Peters’ mother and grandmother greeted her before he walked her to his room, where he was livestreaming on Twitch. The complaint alleges he got her drunk on vodka on stream and then raped her while she was asleep.
An officer who reviewed the livestream said she told Peters, “Wait I’m so drunk though.” He answered, “It’s OK,” before the two kissed, according to the police report.
She also told police Peters knew she was 17 and allegedly told her to tell viewers she was 18.
She first made her claims in a Florida civil suit, alleging she was paid $1,000 and pitched as the “female face for looksmaxxing.” She has since dropped the sexual assault claim from that suit, with her attorney saying it was to avoid interfering with the criminal case.
Team Clavicular is not going quietly. His civil attorneys said in a July filing that the encounter was consensual and called the lawsuit a “publicity grab.” A spokesperson called the charges “bogus.”
Attorney Steve Kramer says Peters denies the claims and “intends to vigorously defend himself.”
Peters took his defense to X, posting, “Trying to get my attention in anyway possible, a lawsuit?” He also pinned the whole thing on “greed.”
Courtrooms are becoming a recurring set for a guy The Bulwark called a voice for Gen Z masculinity. In May, he took a plea deal over a livestream of shotguns being fired near an apparently dead alligator, and the internet declared him “judgemogged” by his good-looking judge.
This time, nobody’s laughing about the judge’s jawline. Peters is presumed innocent, and he’s due back in Orleans next month.
