  • Clavicular (real name Braden Peters) was hospitalized Tuesday night in Miami after suffering a suspected overdose while livestreaming on Kick.
  • Fellow influencer Androgenic, who was present, said Clavicular went “from speaking to being fairly unresponsive in mere seconds” before they rushed him to the hospital.
  • After being released, Clavicular spoke out on X, calling the experience “brutal” and acknowledging that using substances as a “cope” was “obviously not a real solution.”

Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Peters, is speaking out after being hospitalized for a suspected overdose. The 20-year-old posted a selfie on X Wednesday morning (April 14, 2026) — one that appeared to show smears of blood on his face — with a message that was equal parts alarming and oddly self-aware.

“Just got home, that was brutal,” he wrote. “All of the substances are just a cope trying to feel neurotypical while being in public, but obviously that isn’t a real solution. The worst part of tonight was my face descending from the life support mask.”

Not exactly a typical Wednesday morning post.

In a statement, Clavicular’s representative said that he was suspected of having had an overdose. Video from his livestream on Tuesday night raised concerns among his hundreds of thousands of followers, as many observed that he increasingly seemed “out of it.” Then the video abruptly ended.

The whole thing went sideways fast. Video of the incident appears to show Clavicular sitting in a restaurant booth with two other influencers, including fellow livestreamer Androgenic. “Holy f—,” Clavicular says while rubbing his eyes and leaning his head back. Clavicular replies, slurring his words, and says, “Dude, I’m gone.”

From there, things escalated quickly.

Influencer Androgenic, who was with Clavicular during the incident, addressed the situation on X, writing: “I hadn’t seen him in this state before and he went from speaking to being fairly unresponsive in mere seconds. Within a minute we all realized the situation, turned the stream off, picked him up and rushed him to the hospital.”

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, crews were called to the corner of 9th Street and South Miami Avenue after receiving reports of a possible overdose of a 20-year-old man. However, a spokesperson for the City of Miami Department of Fire-Rescue told Newsweek that when first responders arrived, “we were informed that the individual was taken away in a personal vehicle. We did not make patient contact and do not know who the individual was and cleared the scene.”

Clavicular was released from the hospital on Wednesday and was said to be in stable condition. His rep kept it brief: “Clavicular had a suspected overdose last night, and he was hospitalized,” Mitchell Jackson, his representative, told NBC News. “We have no further comment.”

For anyone just now encountering the name: Clavicular gained recognition for his self-obsession with being aesthetically pleasing and for promoting extreme “looksmaxxing” — an online trend, popular among young men, focused on maximizing physical attractiveness. The trend ranges from healthy grooming to dangerous practices, such as bone-smashing using a hammer to enhance facial features, which Clavicular has advocated.

Clavicular has openly talked about using methamphetamines to curb his appetite in order to help him maintain a lean physique. Which, to put it gently, is the kind of detail that recontextualizes everything else here.

When a follower replied to his post suggesting he simply “autistmaxx in public,” he responded, “If i wasnt a livestreamer id agree with you.” Make of that what you will.

The overdose isn’t the only headline Peters has been generating lately. Earlier this week, the controversial streamer made headlines when he walked out of a 60 Minutes Australia interview after correspondent Adam Hegarty asked him if he identifies as an incel and about his connection to Andrew Tate.

Peters was also arrested last month on a battery charge from an incident that took place in February in Osceola County, just south of Orlando. And if that weren’t enough, he’s reportedly being investigated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for a video appearing to show him shooting an alligator.

Peters has drawn increased attention in recent months after The New York Times profiled him in February, and amid wider scrutiny of the “looksmaxxing” trend following Louis Theroux‘s Inside the Manosphere documentary.

At 20 years old, Braden Peters is staring down a genuinely frightening situation — and at least one part of his post suggests he knows it. Whether the self-awareness translates into real change remains to be seen.
