Who took home the mirrorball on Season 28 of Dancing with the Stars?
The four dance couples vying for the Mirrorball Trophy included Lauren Alaina and Gleb Savchenko; Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson; Ally Brooke and Sasha Farber; and Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten.
Leading up to the big win, the finale featured a group number by all the Season 28 contestants, and a dance-off among the finalists, with two performances each.
Brown was regularly one of the top-scoring dancers throughout the series. But she was the only remaining contestant that had never been in the bottom two for elimination, thanks to the consistent voting by fans.
Going into the finale, many of Brown’s fans were worried that Ally Brooke’s would win because she was the judges’ favorite. In fact, on three separate occasions, the judges elected to save Brooke’s from the bottom two elimination.
In the end, Hannah and Alan took home the Mirrorball Trophy!
For the Favorite Dance round, Hannah and Alan performed the Viennese waltz, and judge Carrie Ann Inaba declared it the “best dance of the season.” They scored a 28 out of 30.
For the Freestyle round, the pair earned a 30 out of 30! Judge Bruno Tonioli thought it went from “dramatic to the acrobatic to the sexy.”
Kel and Witney came in second place, Ally and Sasha in third and Lauren and Gleb in fourth.
