Jamie Foxx, the Academy Award-winning actor, has been hospitalized since April 11, and his close friend Charles Alston, also known as “Charlie Mack” or “Mr. Philadelphia,” has taken to Instagram to ask for prayers and well wishes for the actor.

In his May 1 Instagram post, Charles requested everyone to keep Jamie in their thoughts and prayers and stated, “We need you back Bro. As I always state a true champion isn’t the one that wins, it’s the one that meets & overcomes adversity!! You’re test becomes your testimony!!”

He continued by saying, “We all can’t wait to receive you back home to celebrate, laugh with and applaud you!!” Charles asked for mercy from “Allah The Creator of the Heavens & Earth,” and begged for his “merciful healing powers” over Jamie.

Jamie’s hospitalization was a shock to fans, as his friend Nick Cannon had suggested that he was on the mend in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on April 23. However, he did not provide any details about Jamie’s condition.

Before that, a source had told the outlet that Jamie was “healing” and “feels the love from everyone.” Jamie’s 29-year-old daughter, Corinne Foxx, publicly announced his hospitalization through an Instagram post. She shared that Jamie had experienced a medical complication but is on his way to recovery, thanks to quick action and great care.
