Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign raised $81 million in the first 24 hours of her candidacy — a new presidential donation record — following President Biden's departure from the race.

Harris' stunning influx of funds injects new energy into the race after Democrats saw Biden's path to victory rapidly shrink.

The total includes money raised across the campaign, Democratic National Committee and joint fundraising committees.

This figure, along with the $150 million raised from major donors in the past 24 hours brings that total almost to a whopping $250 million.
