Katy Perry has just teased her new single “Small Talk” by releasing some of the lyrics, and wow.
Perry didn’t just Tweet the lyrics, she left these lines of lyrics in a series of beautifully displayed Instagram posts.
In the singer’s social media post on Tuesday (August 07, 2019), she shared notes “from the desk of Katy Perry.” These presumably included little snippits of the upcoming “Small Talk” lyrics.
The newly engaged singer captioned the photos, “#SmallTalk” so I think it’s safe to assume they’re related to the upcoming single.
The first lyric read:
“Isn’t it weird / That you’ve seen me naked / We had conversations about forever / Now it’s about the weather okay.”
The second snippet said, “Isn’t it wild / That I know your weakness / And everybody at the party thinks / That you’re the best since sliced bread.”
“I just can’t believe / We went from strangers to lovers to / Strangers in a lifetime,” the third note read.
The fourth message read, “Acting like we never met / Faking like we’d just forget / We were lovers.”
Charlie Puth is also said to be involved with the track, either as a co-writer or producer.
After rumors swirled about the song's existence last month, Charlie replied to a fan on Instagram Live: “What! How do you know about that? Geez, is anything a secret nowadays?”
Since Katy's announcement, Charlie promoted the song on his Instagram Story.
“Small Talk” is the second in what Katy Perry recently said will a series of stand-alone singles, following the release of “Never Really Over.”
