Last nightโ€™s (April 24, 2019) episode of Riverdale was not just your typical episode of The CW series, but it was the episode was the last Luke Perry filmed before his death.

Perry, who played Archieโ€™s (K.J. Apa) father Fred on the series, died in March after suffering a massive stroke. He was 52.

The sudden loss of Perry has been a profound one for the cast and crew of the series with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa dedicating the remainder of Riverdaleโ€™s third season to his memory.

Itโ€™s not yet clear yet how Lukeโ€™s character, Fred Andrews, will be written out of the show.

The episode, titled โ€œFear The Reaper,โ€ featured just two scenes with Luke.

The first was at the hospital, when Fred, Archie and a number of others were told that the fighter, who Archie boxed in last weekโ€™s episode, had died.

And Lukeโ€™s second scene showed Fred at home with Archie, where Fred was seen telling Archie that the boxerโ€™s death wasnโ€™t his fault. It was a touching scene and emotional for many reasons.
