One of my favorite things to do is stepping out of my comfort zone. I know that’s not a “typical” favorite thing others enjoy doing. But the reason I enjoy it so much is because its an opportunity to learn something, even if it’s something that ends up failing. Just as long as I am able to take away something from it that is beneficial to myself. Even if there is nothing to learn/benefit from, at least I was able to put forth effort into something that I was nervous to try out. It’s crazy to think how much we can change over time. However, sometimes change requires sacrifices. Whether that be sacrificing bad habits to better your health, sacrificing toxic friendships to better yourself, and even sacrificing your own comfort to take that next step in something you want to take on. What keeps me motivated? Knowing that there is always room for improvement and someone else could be out there in a similar position as me, possibly working harder toward the same goal. In other words, competing with myself and anyone else are my motivation factors. It makes me push the limits above and beyond. Being the best looking, the biggest, the strongest, or having any other “best” physical appearance in the gym does not matter to me. All that matters to me is being the hardest working one in the room. With that mentality, I have learned that my training is way better than when I used to go in just to lift and look good which is not a problem if that’s what matters to you. But with that being said, the next time you are able to step into a gym, try training with that mindset and see how much of a difference there was in your training.
