If you have a Directioner in your life, go hug them and tell them that everything is going to be okay.

According to sources for People magazine, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, better known as One Direction, will be taking “at least a year-long break from the band to pursue their own projects” starting in March.

This means that the band won’t tour their fifth studio album, which is expected to be released later this year. They’ll promote it till February, and then the hiatus starts.

You guys! I’m getting ‘NSYNC flashbacks! Remember when they told us it was just a hiatus so they could go off and pursue solo projects? THEY NEVER GOT BACK TOGETHER. Sorry, sorry. I’m probably overreacting. According to sources at E! News“ they are not splitting up. They will remain together and plan to work together in the future.” Okay, but I’m holding you to that, guys.

We should note that news of the break hasn’t been confirmed by the boys of One Direction or any of their people, but since the story has been out since this morning and they haven’t denied it, you can probably assume it’s mostly true. Well, this works out nicely for soon to be a dad, Louis. His baby will probably be born around March or April, so he’ll have some time with the little one.

Hopefully, this bit from the E! News source is true, “They envision a future together but with the freedom to do other things as well.” That I would be okay with. But I’ve been burned by so many boy bands of the past–my heart can’t handle it. Side note: What do you think Zayn Malik is thinking right now?
