As a huge pop music fan, Olivia Newton-John was one of the first singers that I was obsessed with.

As her career moved on, so did the tone and style of her music.

She first found chart success with “Let Me Be There” and “If You Love Me (Let Me Know),” both mid-tempo rambling love songs.

Newton-John hit her stride in 1975 with the release of Have You Never Been Mellow, an album that bridged the slowly closing chasm between country and adult contemporary pop.

The lead single, “Have You Never Been Mellow” has always been my favorite throughout the years.

Then Grease changed it all. From Totally Hot, to Xanadu to Physical, there was no going back to the ONJ of yesteryear.
