Pose star Ryan Jamaal Swain‘s younger sister was shot to death last week, and the actor is speaking out and promising justice on social media.
Raven Lynette Swain, 24, was found seated in the driver’s seat of a parked car in Birmingham, Alabama, last week suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene according to AL.com.
At this point, police do not have a lead as to who shot Raven. They did find several shell casing markers on the parking lot where her car was found, but say they aren’t sure where the actual shooting happened.
“Right now our detectives are canvassing the area,” Birmingham Sgt. Rod Mauldin said. “We don’t have many details of what took place.”
Someone in the area called 911, but Mauldin said he didn’t know whether there was anybody else in the park at the time of the shooting. He said it was too soon to tell if anyone had been in the vehicle with the victim prior to the slaying.
“We don’t know if this took place somewhere else and her vehicle came to a stop here or if it happened here,” Mauldin said. “We are working hard but we need people to come forward with information.”
Police are currently waiting on the autopsy report. They also ask that if anyone has any information, contact Birmingham homicide detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
Ryan wrote: “Know that your big brother and family will always honor you,” Swain wrote. “We will honor you by how we love. We will honor you by how we live. We will honor you with justice. We will forever say your name. Raven Lynette Swain.”
He captioned the statement:
The unimaginable happened last night, my heart, little sister, my ride or die, my partner in life took her last breath.
Raven Lynette Swain, my heart is broken. I cannot even imagine life without you and I won’t. At the moment, we are hurting, gathering information, planning next steps, and lifting you up.
This is not done. We will have swift justice. ??
