Robert Pattinson may have graduated from Twilight
to increasingly complex and unique projects, but that doesn’t mean he’d rule out a return to the franchise that made him a star.
Speaking to Variety from TIFF, where he’s premiering High Life alongside Claire Denis, the actor was asked about the vampiric YA series he starred in alongside Kristen Stewart — and, whether joking or not, appeared enthusiastic about a potential reunion.
“Whenever anyone says [‘Twilight’]’s their guilty pleasure, it’s like, you say guilty, what you really mean is just pleasure,” he said. “The amount of time I’ve spent moisturizing, I am ready to play 17 at a moment’s notice. Ready!”
In the film series, Robert plays the part of a 100-year-old vampire who is stuck in the body of a 17-year-old adolescent.
The first of the Twilight movies was released in November 2008, and Pattinson can scarcely believe the film is already approaching its tenth anniversary.
He told Variety: “It definitely doesn't feel like 10 years ago. “I feel like I stopped mentally progressing around the time when I started doing those movies, so it feels like not a day has passed.”
