Actress Selma Blair Arrested After In-Flight Incident Leaves Delta Flight Crew Injured

Selma Blair is facing severe legal consequences and an active FBI investigation following a violent mid-air altercation on Sunday night. The 54-year-old actress was arrested after allegedly attempting to open an emergency exit door aboard Delta Flight 938 en route from Los Angeles to New York.

Panic reportedly broke out when Blair became agitated and reached for the cabin door while the aircraft was in flight. When confronted by flight attendants attempting to secure the cabin, she allegedly attacked them.

The altercation resulted in physical injuries to the flight crew. Blair allegedly “punched one and bit another” during the struggle to subdue her.

Medical dispatch audio from the ground confirmed the severity of the scuffle, noting victims suffered “a bloody nose and bite marks”. Ultimately, Blair “was put in restraints on the plane”.

A spokesperson for the airline addressed the frightening disruption directly. “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” the representative stated.

Despite the mid-air struggle, the airline confirmed there was “no operational impact to the flight as the flight landed ahead of schedule at JFK”.

Port Authority police met the aircraft at the gate around 11 p.m. to take Blair into custody. However, the violence allegedly escalated once she was removed from the plane.

While being transported for medical evaluation, law enforcement reported she “repeatedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head” inside the ambulance.

The erratic behavior reportedly continued upon arrival at the medical facility, where she “allegedly assaulted a nurse” who has since chosen to press charges.

Blair’s representatives quickly issued a statement attributing the terrifying sequence of events to a sudden health crisis.

“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct,” her team stated. The representative confirmed that “Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition”.

Dispatch communications also revealed an unconfirmed report suggesting the passenger “had struck her head” during the cabin incident, though circumstances remain unclear. One of the injured flight attendants was immediately transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The state has officially charged Selma with “two counts of assault, one on a police officer and another on a nurse”. Because the initial altercation occurred mid-flight, the FBI has formally “commenced an investigation into the incident”.

Blair currently remains in the hospital for psychiatric and medical evaluation as authorities assemble their case.
