Timothée Chalamet is proving he’s got serious game when it comes to college football.

The Hollywood star made waves during his appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay Saturday (Dec. 07, 2024), where he showcased his impressive understanding of college football while previewing the weekend’s matchups.

The Dune heartthrob stepped into the spotlight as this week’s College GameDay guest picker, taking on the responsibility of predicting winners for the day’s biggest games.

“These teams are two and two in their last four matchups, the RedHawks defense looks good but I’m looking at fourth-year Bobcats quarterback Parker Navarro… If he can get going, he’ll tilt this in favor of the Bobcats. I’m going underdog Bobcats here,” Chalamet said in his first pick, picking the University of Ohio Bobcats over Ohio’s Miami University RedHawks.

During another moment, the A Complete Unknown star boldly chose Texas to triumph over Georgia, stirring up the Atlanta crowd.

“I’m going with my movie dad [Matthew] McConaughey here. I’m sorry to everybody here,” he said, nodding to his connection with Texas superfan McConaughey from their film Interstellar, where McConaughey portrayed his father. Chalamet later shared a photo with McConaughey at the Texas-Georgia showdown.

Sports commentators Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee, sitting beside Chalamet, couldn’t hide their amazement at his football expertise, celebrating his picks with enthusiastic back pats and high-fives.

As fans marveled at the actor’s unexpected football knowledge, social media exploded with reactions.

The evening ended with Chalamet scoring four correct predictions, including his successful call on the University of Ohio’s victory over Miami University.

Fans can catch Chalamet next in A Complete Unknown, the anticipated Bob Dylan biopic, releasing this Christmas.
