“Nothing happened,” an insider told People, adding: “They were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation. People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing.”

The video that’s got everyone talking shows the two posing with Katy Perry. Hayek touched Kidman’s arm, seemingly to get her to face the camera. Kidman then moved Hayek’s hand away, turned to hug Perry, exchanged a few words with the Frida star, and walked off.

But here’s the thing – it’s not what it seems. The source continued, “This whole situation is silly. Salma and Nicole love and respect each other.”

While they might not be besties, Kidman and Hayek are more connected than you’d think. Kidman’s the new face of Balenciaga, which is part of Kering – the luxury group owned by Hayek’s husband, François-Henri Pinault.
