Letโs clear the air about Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman. Remember that viral clip from Balenciagaโs Paris Fashion Week show? The one where they seemed a bit off? Well, someone close to them is setting the record straight.
โNothing happened,โ an insider told People, adding: โThey were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation. People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing.โ
The video thatโs got everyone talking shows the two posing with Katy Perry. Hayek touched Kidmanโs arm, seemingly to get her to face the camera. Kidman then moved Hayekโs hand away, turned to hug Perry, exchanged a few words with the Frida star, and walked off.
But hereโs the thing โ itโs not what it seems. The source continued, โThis whole situation is silly. Salma and Nicole love and respect each other.โ
While they might not be besties, Kidman and Hayek are more connected than youโd think. Kidmanโs the new face of Balenciaga, which is part of Kering โ the luxury group owned by Hayekโs husband, Franรงois-Henri Pinault. And get this โ Hayekโs been pals with Kidmanโs ex, Tom Cruise, since they worked on Ask the Dust back in 2006.
So, next time you see a clip like this, remember โ thereโs often more to the story than meets the eye.
