Wladimir Klitschko is demanding immediate police intervention. The retired heavyweight champion has formally asked a California court for the authority to launch a criminal investigation into the sudden disappearance of his late ex-fiancée Hayden Panettiere‘s valuables.
In an October 5 court filing, Klitschko alleges a targeted breach of Panettiere’s estate. He informed the judge he “is informed and believes that a non-family member previously connected to Hayden sold certain items belonging to Hayden, believed to include jewelry, to a pawn shop.”
The missing property carries tremendous financial and sentimental weight. Klitschko explicitly stated in his petition that highly valuable personal items “have disappeared or remain unaccounted for.” One of the most significant missing pieces is the custom engagement ring Klitschko proposed with in 2013, which is reportedly valued at $500,000.

Klitschko’s private efforts to retrieve the actress’s jewelry hit a brick wall at the retail level. He claims the unnamed pawn shop “refused to provide specific information about the valuables without involvement from law enforcement”.
This absolute blockade sparked his urgent court filing. He told the judge he was deeply concerned that without a formal police hold, the valuable items “would be sold to third parties” and lost forever.
The legal maneuver is strictly about protecting his 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, who is the sole heir to her mother’s estate. Klitschko is simultaneously petitioning to become the guardian of Kaya’s estate to manage her assets.
He argued the unauthorized pawning directly harms the child, specifically noting the missing property “could affect her inheritance.”
Court documents reveal that Panettiere actively feared theft in her final months. Klitschko noted that long before her fatal August drug overdose, the actress hired a private security service.

This protective measure was reportedly “arising from a documented concern that an individual had gained unauthorized access to Hayden’s property”.
Panettiere took immediate physical steps to lock down her assets. The legal filing details how the home’s “locks were changed and expensive valuables were relocated” to keep them completely out of reach. Klitschko specifically noted that Panettiere’s designer clothes had been securely moved to prevent unwanted visitors from taking them.

These new court allegations track with existing claims from Panettiere’s immediate family regarding her inner circle. The late star’s mother, Lesley Vogel, previously revealed that the actress’s former boyfriend Brian Hickerson “has stolen and pawned some of Panettiere’s belongings before”.
Klitschko is now waiting on the legal system to greenlight his asset recovery mission. The California court has yet to issue a final ruling on his request to mandate law enforcement action.
