Missy Elliott is back with her first project in almost 15 years — Iconology.

Days before she receives MTV’s Video Vanguard Award, the influential artist has dropped a surprise release titled Iconology.

Elliott has not released a full album since 2005’s The Cookbook.

“Let’s #ThrowItBack to a time when music just felt good and made us want to dance! Sincerely, Dr. Melissa ‘Missy’ Elliott #ICONOLOGY,” she wrote. “This year has been a tremendous year for me…I am humbled and grateful. THANK YOU for allowing me to smell the roses. You, my fans, and God are the reason I am here and have celebrated every milestone with me!”

The Iconology EP is produced by Elliott, Timbaland, and Wili Hendrix. Have a listen to the five-song project below, and check out her new video for “Throw It Back,” which features a cameo by Teyana Taylor.
