Billie Eilish is showing off her new blonde locks for British Vogue as a blonde bombshell.

The cover shot and images inside the new issue of the magazine feature the newly blonde pop star bursting out of a pink-and-flesh-colored bodice and other lingerie looks.

The photographs are reminiscent of those taken of Marilyn Monroe and other 1940s and 1950s pin-ups, and Eilish explains that's what she was going for when she came up with the idea for the shoot.

“It's all about what makes you feel good,” the “Bad Guy” singer told the magazine. “If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, fuck it. If you feel like you look good, you look good.”

“She is indulging a fantasy by embracing a ‘classic, old-timey pin-up' look,” the magazine said.

This is a big change for Eilish, who said in the interview that her body is her “deepest insecurity” and was the initial reason for her depression when she was younger, which led to her wearing baggy clothes.

Eilish said she wanted to explore the beauty of corsets, which she said she knew would rile people, but was also drawn to their original restrictive function.

She also struggled with how much skin people felt was acceptable to show, but now she says confidence is her only gospel.

“My thing is that I can do whatever I want,” Eilish said in anticipation of criticism of her more revealing shoot with British Vogue. “It's all about what makes you feel good.”

“Showing your body and showing your skin — or not — should not take any respect away from you,” she said.

As for her recently dyed blond locks, the singer said she was ready for them “to suck” but now, “I feel more like a woman somehow.”

But she also added, “Don’t make me not a role model because you’re turned on by me.”

Eilish's new album Happier Than Ever is set to be released on July 30, 2021.
