Drake Bell, known for his role in Drake & Josh, has revealed that he was sexually abused by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck when he was 15 years old.
According to a report from one of the executive producers of the upcoming documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Drake Bell, known for his role in “Drake & Josh”, has revealed that he was sexually abused by Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck when he was 15 years old.
The documentary, which focuses on the working conditions of shows created by Dan Schneider in the ’90s and early 2000s, features an interview with Bell. It is confirmed that he speaks about Peck’s alleged abuse during his time on “The Amanda Show” from 1999 to 2002.
Peck was arrested in 2003 and convicted of performing lewd acts and oral copulation with a minor. He served 16 months in prison and was registered as a sex offender in 2004. This information has been made public in a teaser for the documentary series.
Bell, who has opted to remain unidentified as the minor involved in the case until now, has experienced a turbulent past few years. He was briefly reported as missing by the police in 2023. In 2021, a court sentenced him to two years of probation and 200 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to attempted child endangerment and sending inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old girl. Bell has also previously denied allegations of abuse made by his former girlfriend, Melissa Lingafelt.

Scheduled to be released on March 17 and 18, Quiet on Set is set to feature interviews with multiple former child stars and crew members. According to sources, Boy Meets World actors Rider Strong, Will Friedle, and Danielle Fishel were approached by the makers of the docuseries, but decided to discuss their past experiences with Brian Peck on their podcast instead. Peck, who had a recurring role as an adult on Boy Meets World, formed strong bonds with Friedle and Strong during filming.
According to Fishel, there may have been concerns among the adults on set about discussing relationships due to Peck’s sexual orientation. She proposed that they may have refrained from mentioning it out of fear of being perceived as homophobic rather than recognizing it as a boundary between adults and children, regardless of one’s sexual identity.

While recalling their involvement in defending Peck during his case, Friedle and Strong acknowledged their past actions which consisted of composing letters to a judge and attending court sessions on his behalf. Friedle remembered their presence in the courtroom, feeling as though they were on the opposite side of justice.
The mother of the victim even remarked on the famous individuals accompanying them, but it did not alter the fact that Peck had harmed her child. Friedle felt a sense of despair and questioned their purpose for being there, as the entire situation was dreadful.
