Singer John Legend has been crowned People’s Sexiest Man Alive title, the magazine announced Tuesday (November 12, 2019).
Legend, 40, told the magazine that he’s thrilled by the honor, but also scared to follow in the footsteps of other entertainers who have been named before him.
“I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it’s a lot of pressure,” he told the magazine.
Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen posted her reaction to the news on Twitter:
Teigen had tweeted earlier in the evening, “I have big news and it’s killing me I can’t say it and it’s not a baby.”
Legend went on to say, “everyone’s going to be picking me apart to see if I’m sexy enough to hold this title. I’m [also] following Idris Elba, which is not fair and is not nice to me!.”
Teigen also joked on Twitter that she “cannot WAIT for people to get mad about John being the sexiest man alive.”
