Singer Kylie Minogue, 57, has revealed that she was secretly diagnosed with cancer for a second time in early 2021 — more than 15 years after her first, very public battle with breast cancer in 2005.
The bombshell reveal comes in her new self-titled Netflix documentary, Kylie, which dropped May 20.
“My second cancer diagnosis was in early 2021. I was able to keep that to myself,” the “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” singer shared. “Not like the first time.”

She didn’t stop there. “Thankfully, I got through it. Again. And all is well. Hey, who knows what’s around the corner, but pop music nurtures me… my passion for music is greater than ever,” she said.
The pop icon admitted the timing of the documentary reveal was deeply personal. “I didn’t want to leave the house again at one point. ‘Padam Padam’ opened so many doors for me but on the inside I knew that cancer wasn’t just a blip in my life. And I really just wanted to say what happened so I can let go of it. I’d sit through interviews and every opportunity I thought, ‘now’s the time,’ but I kept it to myself.”
The diagnosis came after a routine check-up, and Minogue is now using her platform to nudge fans toward their own.

“There will be someone out there who will benefit from a gentle reminder to do their check-ups… Early detection was very helpful and I am so grateful to be able to say that I am well today,” she said in promotional materials for the documentary.
Her first battle with breast cancer in 2005 famously led to what the WHO later called the “Kylie Effect” — a measurable surge in mammogram screenings among Australian women after she went public with her diagnosis.
Now, over two decades later, she’s doing it again — this time on her own terms.
Kylie is streaming now on Netflix.
