Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Drops Its First Teaser Trailer — WATCH

Maleficent has a new foe in Michelle Pfeiffer.
In the teaser trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Angelina Jolie‘s horned fairy faces off with a new queen in Pfeiffer.
As the teaser shows, the film will also dig into the conflict between Maleficent and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Queen Ingrith.
The film will also see the return of Elle Fanning‘s Princess Aurora, who famously becomes Sleeping Beauty thanks to Maleficent’s curse.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora.
The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.

The trailer is strangely tense, showing that Frozen II may not be a movie that’s quite for the faint of heart. It opens with Elsa alone on a black sand beach trying to fight the waves. She’s meeting with limited success. Why she’s fighting the current is not explained here, but the music and the look on her face make it clear that this is serious business.
