The 60-year-old media personality was moved from her New York City assisted living facility to a nearby hospital on Monday, March 10, 2025, after officials conducted a welfare check. The check was prompted when Williams dropped a handwritten note from her window stating, “Help! Wendy!!”
The wellness inspection occurred around 11:15 A.M., resulting in New York Police Department officers escorting Williams from the facility to a waiting ambulance.
The former television personality, diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia, resides in a memory unit at the assisted living facility while challenging her court-mandated guardianship.
Williams’ legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, who has overseen her affairs since May 2022, controls her financial and medical decisions. Morrissey has stated publicly that Williams is “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated.”
Williams strongly contests these claims, maintaining her mental competency. “I am not cognitively impaired but I feel like I am in prison,” she declared during a The Breakfast Club interview in January.
