If you had any doubts that Eddie Redmayne is one of the most charming and wonderful actors in Hollywood right now, then allow his latest interview with Vogue to put your mind at ease.
In addition to looking super handsome, Eddie also gives us a taste of that wonderful personality of his and–as the writer calls it–his “lovely manners.”
So what are some things we learned about Eddie?
He started off as a model, although he didn’t get very far. “The most success I think I had was doing a knitting magazine that was sent to grannies, but after my huge, heady days in the knitting books, I left it behind.”
And we’re glad he did because now we get to watch him act. Most recently, The Theory of Everything has been getting him serious Oscar buzz. In the film, Eddie plays Stephen Hawking from a bright university student to an aged scientist talking through his famous computer. He internalized it all–with the help of visits to ALS patients and Hawking himself.
Probably the cutest story in the piece is about his fiancée, and how he tried to figure out her ring size. “They’ve been together a couple of years, though he couldn’t find any way to check her ring size before he proposed—other than waiting until ‘the middle of the night, taking her hand, and putting her finger next to my finger.’ ”
I’m really not doing this profile proper justice. Read it all yourself. If you’re not already, you’ll be in love with Eddie Redmayne by the end of it.
