What the hell is red light therapy you ask?
Red light therapy (RLT) is a therapeutic technique that uses red low-level wavelengths of light to treat skin issues, such as wrinkles, scars, and persistent wounds, among other conditions such as pain, inflammation and seasonal depression.
It is a non-invasive method of the procedure and relatively low occurrence of side effects that make red light therapy so appealing to celebrities and regular folk alike.
Apart from the cosmetic benefits, serious recreational athletes and professional sports stars also turn to this treatment to improve recovery and boost performance due to its anti-inflammatory effects.
While red light therapy devices and procedures can be quite pricey, the Joovv Go is making red light therapy affordable and convenient.
The Joovv Go is a handheld device that is available in two different versions. The red light has a light wavelength of 660 nm and the near-infrared light is at 850 nm. I have the later version. What’s the difference?
Both red light at 660 nm and near-infrared light at 850 nm have been proven across hundreds of clinical studies to enhance cellular function. The main difference is that red light at 660 nm is readily absorbed by skin tissue, leading to improved skin health and collagen production. Near-infrared light at 850 nm is invisible to the human eye and penetrates deeper into tissue leading to benefits like increased muscle recovery and reduced joint pain.
The Joovv Go launched in February 2019. It’s a smaller device that is available in either red or near=infrared model that offers the same medical-grade power the larger units provide—but you can take it with you on the go because it is extremely portable.
With just 10 minutes of light treatments, a few times a week is all it takes to reap benefits like less joint pain and soreness. I have been experiencing neck pain and after three weeks of treatments, I do have to say that my neck pain has definitely reduced.
There is not a visible timer on the device, but it does automatically shuts down after the 10-minute mark. With a full charge, you should get about 7 uses out of the device.
At $295, the Joovv Go is the cheapest option for those who want to introduce their bodies to some red light therapy.
You can check out all the versions of Joovv on their website to determine which device is best for you.
