Jamie Dornan, the Irish heartthrob known for his role in Fifty Shades of Grey, recently opened up about a chilling experience with an overzealous fan. In an interview with The Independent, Dornan revealed that a stalker-like individual showed up uninvited at his doorstep, sending shivers down his spine. And to make matters worse, his children were home at the time!
Before you jump to any Fifty Shades fan conspiracies, Dornan is happily married to Amelia Warner, a talented composer and former actress. Together, they have three beautiful daughters who bring joy and laughter into their lives.
Dealing with intense fandom can be a real challenge, but Dornan has mastered the art of protecting his privacy and maintaining a sense of normalcy. “I tried to put walls up around [the fans], to really try and not let that in,” he shared with The Independent. “I’m pretty good at just blocking any of the noise associated with whatever fandom is – not letting it affect me, or more importantly my family.”
In fact, Dornan’s ability to separate his on-screen persona from his personal life is truly admirable. He immerses himself in his roles, even going to great lengths to understand the mindset of a stalker. In preparation for playing the notorious serial killer Paul Spector in The Fall, he confessed to following a woman on the London Underground. “It felt exciting in a dirty way,” he admitted to The LA Times. But thankfully, he quickly realized the error of his ways and stopped himself from crossing any boundaries.
While Dornan may have delved into the psyche of a stalker for his acting, his real-life encounter was far from thrilling. It served as a stark reminder of the importance of privacy and the lengths some fans are willing to go. Despite the challenges, Dornan remains steadfast in his commitment to his craft and his family.
