The Week in Drag Mini: Laganja Estranja comes out as trans

Laganja Estranja

The biggest story from last week in the world of drag is Laganja Estranjaโ€™s announcement that she is trans.

The season 6 standout and cannabis advocate (and a fabulous interviewee) told Entertainment Weekly that, โ€œPeople think that when youโ€™re trans that youโ€™veย wantedย to be a girl your whole life; yes, thatโ€™s partly true [for me], but itโ€™s also true that Iโ€™ve wanted to be male my whole life to fit into what society deems as normal,โ€ adding, โ€œBut, that isnโ€™t my truth, and Iโ€™m daring to take this on. I tried to be male and be in-between and nonbinary. The truth is Iโ€™m a feminine entity and Iย canย live this life.โ€

Congrats on living your true life, and happy Pride! We celebrate the news by posting the video for her insanely catchy song, โ€œHypemanโ€.
