Sam Asghari recently opened up about his past relationship with Britney Spears after the couple decided to part ways 14 months into their marriage last year.
The couple, who began dating five years prior, exchanged vows on June 9, 2022. However, by August 2023, Asghari, citing “irreconcilable differences,” had initiated divorce proceedings. The date they officially separated was noted as July 28, 2023.
In a heartfelt interview with People magazine, the 29-year-old actor and fitness enthusiast expressed his appreciation for the time spent with the 41-year-old pop icon.

“Sharing life with someone for an extended period is a blessing. But people evolve and paths diverge,” he reflected.
Addressing the speculation surrounding their separation, Asghari emphasized his respect for Spears, debunking any bitterness. “I’ve always found it odd when, after sharing moments of love and companionship, people resort to negativity post-breakup,” he shared with the publication. “Speaking ill of someone you once loved is something I could never do. My time with her was nothing short of wonderful, and that chapter will forever hold a special place in my heart.”
Following the divorce filing, which included requests for spousal support and legal fees coverage, rumors about challenging prenuptial agreements and threats emerged.
In a personal admission on Instagram in August 2023, Asghari touched upon the dissolution of their six-year commitment, wishing Spears nothing but the best and asking for kindness from the public and media rather than privacy.

With his 30th birthday on the horizon, Asghari commented on his perspective towards aging to People magazine. “I’ve always anticipated growing older, valuing the wisdom and experiences it brings. I believe in cherishing life’s experiences,” he said.
Post-breakup, he took strides towards a “healthy lifestyle,” shedding “35–40 pounds” as he mentioned in a Page Six report. “I have a positive outlook on life. My experiences have shaped me, and I’m looking forward to continued growth and celebrating my past, which was truly a blessing,” he concluded in his People interview.
