Hello, hello, hello! We are back with some exciting updates and news from the RuPaul’s Drag Race universe.
This week we were introduced to the 14 queens competing for the RuPaul's Drag Race Season 16 crown and they are a fierce bunch of contenders. Christmas is around the corner, and we have lots of videos to help spread holiday cheer from sone of your favorite queens, including Jinkx and DeLa, Trixie Mattel, Priyanka and Lemon.
Maddie Morphosis kikis with Alaska and Joseph Shepherd exposes Alexis Michelle, Bob and Monét dish on their fellow Ru girls and share some wise words and so much more. Let’s get into it and let’s bring it to the runway!
New year, new queens! Of course, this week’s top story is the announcement and introduction of the 14 queens competing to become America’s Next Drag Superstar on the sweet season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Going head-to head this season are: Amanda Tori Meating, Dawn, Geneva Karr, Hershii LiqCour-Jeté, Megami, Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige, Mirage, Morphine Love Dion, Nymphia Wind, Plane Jane, Plasma, Q, Sapphira Cristál and Xunami Muse.
In the two-part premiere, airing on January 5 at 8pm ET on MTV, the queens compete in the fan-favorite talent show and in a new twist, called “Rate-A-Queen”, the contestants must rank their fellow queens’ performances to determine the tops and bottoms of the week. Watch as Sasha Colby introduces the newest members of the Drag Race family.
On Monday, I had the pleasure of seeing The Jinkx and DeLa Holiday Show (and if it’s coming to a city near you, do yourself a favor and go!) Here they talk about the shows origins and what kind of holiday cheer fans can expect in this interview.
Jinkx and DeLa react to thirst Tweets in this video from Buzzfeed.
Jaymes Mansfield restyles a fan-submitted fluorescent green wig and, as always, makes magic with an elaborate, sparling masterpiece. If you can’t get enough of pop culture chat from Jaymes, make sure to follow her new YouTube channel, It’s Just Jaymes Okay.
Trixie Mattel looks at the top toys of this Christmas season…and some of them are doozies. I know I am an adult (or at least my driver’s license says so) but I crave those Barbie move dolls.
Bob and Monét have resumed their discussion of every US Ru girl (and a sidebar chat about Drake) on the latest “Sibling Rivalry”. Starting with Trixie Mattel, the pair discuss queens including Katya, Kennedy Davenport, Violet Chachki and Dax Exclamation Point.
And, on the latest “Sibling Advicery”, Bob and Monét share their Spotify Wrapped playlists and offer advice to a son dealing with his family during the holidays, a woman navigating her queer journey and settling the debate on who has control of the aux cable in the car.
Bob is back with more “Crowd Werk” this week, this time discussing what you should do before you turn 25.
Willam takes us behind the scenes at the Remember the Ribbon benefit in New York City.
Trust me, it’s not a mistake to check out the latest episode of “UNHhhh.” This time around, Trixie and Katya discuss their “happy accidents.” What famous singer did Trixie turn down for a collab? What word did Katya misspell in third grade that she can’t forget? Discover the answers to these questions and more (and get lots of laughs in the process.)
More laughs from Trixie and Kayta ahead…they tackle the delicate subject of keeping your booty clean in the latest episode of their podcast The Bald and the Beautiful.”
It’s a new round of “Glam Slam”, pitting Yuhua Hamasaki against Olivia Lux in a fashion face-off. Who serves the best concrete jungle realness? Who will win over hosts Rob Anderson and Monét X Change and a judging panel of queens? Watch and find out.
When it comes to wigs, can Jaymes do no wrong? The answer may lie in her latest video, where she styles a wig blindfolded. Watch and find out.
Alaska is a fun interview (and yes, I have first-hand knowledge) and the latest episode of “Give It to Me Straight” is no exception. Enjoy as Maddy Morphosis chats with one of our favorite Race Chasers.
Priyanka and Lemon are serving slay belle realness on the Christmas edition of their web series Come Through as they share their five favorite things.
Remember season 9’s Kardashian themed Rusical? Alexis Michelle sure does and she discusses why she didn’t cast Nina Bonina Brown as Blac Chyna and her villain edit with Joseph Shepherd in this excerpt from “Exposed.” New episodes of Exposed drop every Thursday on OUTtv!
On the latest “No Gorge”, Gottmik and Violet Chachki talk about pet peeves, gym etiquette and lots of other random topics.
Laganja Estranja has taken us along on the Werk the World tour and on this week’s Day in the Life vlog, she is working with the queens in Asia.
And that’s a wrap on this week’s drag news. Until we meet again, stay safe, stay healthy, support the queens and say LOVE!
