In the premiere episode of the new season of Kevin Hart‘s interview show Hart to Heart on Peacock, Academy Award-winning actor Ben Affleck candidly discussed his career anxieties and his beginnings in Hollywood. Although Affleck largely avoided discussing his personal life, he did offer some insights into his marriage to superstar Jennifer Lopez.
Currently, persistent rumors suggest that Lopez and Affleck, who were engaged in the early 2000s before calling off their wedding, might be heading towards a divorce. Some speculate that Lopez’s active presence on social media has caused friction in their relationship.

Affleck previously expressed reluctance to fully support his wife’s vision for her self-funded musical film This Is Me… Now: A Love Story in an accompanying documentary. The film required sharing a collection of love letters exchanged between the couple, which Affleck was hesitant about.
During his new interview with Hart, Affleck briefly mentioned Lopez. “My wife will tell you, I like to talk,” he said humorously before a commercial break.

Affleck also shared anecdotes about his children—Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner—highlighting their ability to detect his vulnerabilities and tease him about them.

“I think it was when we rolled through Times Square,” he continues. “We get out of the car, we were going to a play, and I was like, ‘Fuck it, babe, we’re going to be late, we gotta walk a block and a half.’ [Lopez] was like, ‘Alright,’ she didn’t say shit.”
“We get out with her, all the kids, through Times Square, and the shit was like fuckin’ bananas,” Affleck says. “I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ There was a lady, she was smoking weed, in a full purple skintight suit—she’s a heavy lady—and she starts running backwards filming, going ‘J-LO!!’ Like a herald, that then gets everyone else, and then all the tourists come in.”

“Then we’ve got our five kids, it’s me and Jen and what feels like hundreds of people, and they’re all screaming. And my daughter just turns to me and goes, ‘J-Lo Was My Stepmother,’” Affleck continues. “And I was like, alright that’s a good title.”
Affleck addressed the frequent paparazzi photos of him appearing grumpy. While some have speculated that he is unhappy in his marriage to Lopez, Affleck refuted these claims. He explained to Hart that he prefers directing movies over acting due to his shy nature and discomfort with public attention. “People see me and think I’m always mad because someone has a camera in my face,” he said.

Hart jokingly responded, “You have resting bitch face,” to which Affleck replied with mock indignation, “I have resting hard face. People are projecting onto me something that I don’t feel.”
Meanwhile, Lopez was recently seen vacationing on a boat in Italy without Affleck, adding fuel to the ongoing speculation about their relationship.
