Among all of the series in the 90 Day Fiancé universe, the UK franchise has become a fan favorite, partly thanks to the amazing couples who have found love across the miles and have had the courage to share their journey with viewers around the world. Our favorite couple you may know on Instagram as @loulou.j.morgan and @joseskate – otherwise known as Louise and Jose Lopez.

Louise, a single mom, body positivity influencer and invisible disability advocate from Gloucester, UK, met musician and rapper Jose Lopez, who hails from Santa Marta, Colombia back in late 2021, where she found his Instagram page. The coupe chatted online for 11 months with the aid of translation apps and Louise eventually made the 5,000-mile voyage to Columbia to meet Jose and they were married in a small ceremony in a registry office in Santa Marta. We were introduced to the couple on the second season of 90 Day Fiancé UK and Jose’s love song to his bride, “I Love You Chicken”, made audiences fall in love with this pair.

Over the season, we witnessed as Jose struggled with learning English in order to get his visa and in season three, the couple collaborated on the video for Jose’s single “Real Story” with the help of Louise’s adult son, Jesse. The pair welcomed a son, Raul into the world and had a vow renewal ceremony in Gloucester for Louise’s friends and family.

We had the chance to sit down with Jose and Louise to talk about their experience on the show, Jose’s music and what’s next for them in our exclusive interview, we even put them in the hot seat for another installment of the Socialite Seven. Get to know more about these international sweethearts who have won our hearts.

How did you get involved with 90 Day Fiancé UK? What prompted you to want to be on the show?

Louise: I just watched it before – it wasn't the UK [series], it was the American [one]. It was actually my sister that said, “Oh, look at this.  Maybe you should have a look at going on this.” And that was it.

What was it like to have cameras following you around in your daily life? What was that experience like for you?

Louise: I found it difficult at times, not because of the actual crew, but because of my illnesses as well. It was a bit of a struggle, if I'm honest but we just got on with it, if that makes sense.

What has been the best thing that's happened to you as a result of being on the series?

Louise: To me, I would say the best thing is when I get messages where people say that we made them happy, that we made them laugh, that we showed them not to give up on love. I've just got this thing where I believe that in the world there's not enough happiness and laughter so, to me, that's the best thing.

I hear Raul in the background. How is he doing?

Good, thank you. He's good.

What was that adjustment for you to go from having an adult son to going back to diapers and teething and all those things like that. What was that like for you?

Louise: It was okay. I was a nurse so I've spent a long part of my life looking after people. I know it's not looking after babies but I love my children and you just get on with it. I didn't find it a massive struggle and, obviously, Jose helps a lot and he does a lot for me. So, you know, we're a team. We work together.

What has that been like blending your cultures?

Louise: Jose and I kind of speak Spanglish.  We'll speak English and then we'll drop Spanish words in. We both do that, but with me and Jose, we've got a different blend of cultures because I'm part Jamaican and Jose's Colombian and obviously I'm here and I'm Welsh.

We come from different cultures and we do lots of different things together, but if I'm honest with you, there's just a lot of Jamaican food in this house. But yeah, we do try to understand each other as we've both got really strong cultures, so it's important for both of us to understand each other.

I wanted to talk a little bit about Jose's music. Who were some of your musical influences?

Jose: I like Daddy Yankee and Latin American artists like Maluma…artists from my country and Puerto Rico. But I create my own lyrics. The songs are my idea, they’re in my mind, I'm not copying anyone else, it's me. I create the instrumentals and the rhythm. I love making music.

How have people in the UK reacted to your music? Is reggaeton popular in the UK?

Jose: Honestly, I don't know if it's popular or not in the UK, but I live in Gloucester. But at the same time, when I’m outside, people say hello and ask me to take a picture. They ask about my Spotify and YouTube. A lot of people like it.

Are you planning on recording more music?

Jose: Yeah. I’m making more music now. I have more music for the future.

You've got such a good, solid relationship. Do you have advice for couples on how to make a successful relationship?

Louise: No, I don't think you can give advice to anybody because everybody's relationship is different. And everybody lives differently and it wouldn't be fair for us to give advice. And there is no such thing as perfection, you know?

What is next for you both?

Louise: Jose's got quite a lot of new music that he's working on, and I'm doing charity work for Fibromyalgia – I'm going to actually be the main speaker at a ball for things like that as well. But, at the moment, we're just taking it really slow, being a family, and just being together, and just seeing what comes our way, and see what offers we get.

Jose and Louise Answer the Socialite Seven

What annoys you the most?

Louise: My biggest annoyance is if I don't have any hot sauce to eat my dinner with, right? That would cause absolute mass destruction in my house. People have to go to the shop. Somebody has to go get me some hot sauce. It’s not even a big problem to some people, but to me, that's the end.

Jose: What I don't like is not sleeping properly.  If you don't sleep properly, the next day you’re just not properly focused.

What is your most cherished possession?

Louise: Oh, that's my children. There's, there's no doubt about that, it’s my children. Till my dying breath, that will be my children. What do you love the most? What's your most special thing in the world?

Jose: My biggest love is my baby. I also love my wife, my mom and my family. But now, the more important person to me is Raul, my baby.

If they made it about your lives, who would you want to play you?

Jose: I like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean Claude Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone.

Louise: But would you want Arnold Schwarzenegger to be Jose? Would you want Arnold Schwarzenegger to be you in a movie, be Jose in a movie? That would be so funny.

Jose: Oh. Adam Sandler. I love Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey. He's so funny. In Colombia, I saw their movies. They’re good actors.

And who would you want to play you, Louise.

Louise: I don't even know…maybe somebody like Drew Barrymore.

If you could wake up in the morning with a talent or a superpower, what would you want to want it to be?

Jose: I would want to have the power to have peace and love in the world. Love for every person. No guerras [wars], nothing bad – only peace and love.

Louise: Mine would be for selfish reasons, to get rid of multiple sclerosis, to have the power to remove that.

What can't you live without?

Louise: Kisses. You've got to kiss. I love to kiss Raul and kiss Jose. That's my thing. That's something I have to do every day.

Jose: Every day I love to kiss my baby, my wife, and clean the house.  You’ve got to have good energy in the house. Cleaning everything is good. It's positive.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Louise: My idea of perfect happiness, probably because of my life experiences, is for people to just live again in peace and for people that you love to not be in pain and to just be okay. That's the honest truth.

What is the best piece of advice that you've been given in your life?

Louise: Ooh, that's hard.  That's such a hard one. I think again, people might find it boring, but again, just simple things, you know, when you are going through a really bad time or this something wrong and somebody just says to you, I'm sorry that you felt that way and it's okay. Just those simple words just to lift you up from where you are.
