Hello, hello, hello! We're here to add some sizzle to your summer with the latest from your favorite Drag Race queens. The latest videos from Willam, confessions from Latrice Royale and Courtney Act and updates from some of your other fave queens are here for you. Let's kiki!
Oh my POD! Our favorite Drag Race podcasts gave us a plethora of laughs this week. Willam and Alaska talked about the upcoming (nightmare-inducing) Cats movie and more in their weekly dose of “Hot Goss” and revisited season three's Snatch Game, the one best known for Alexis Mateo‘s crazy take on Alicia Keys and Stacey Layne Matthews‘ incredible impersonation of Mo'nique, on “Race Chaser” classique. Listen to both on Forever Dog. Over at “Drag Her”, Mano and Nicole discuss All-Stars season one's “Gaff-In” challenge, which marked the end of Team Brown Flower (I agree with these two that Tammie Brown is the gift that keeps on giving.)
The lineup for the upcoming DragCon NYC is getting even better. RuPaul's “Ru Talks” series is welcoming the fabulous Whoopi Goldberg. Mama Ru and Whoopi chatting one-on-one? Does anyone want to road trip to the Big Apple with me? DragCon NYC runs from Friday, September 6th through Sunday, September 8th at New York's Javits Center. Tickets are now available at RuPaulsDragCon.com.
Latrice Royale talks to AV Club about her recent wedding and said she would have loved to play Ursula in the live-action Little Mermaid reboot. Latrice reasoned she'd be the perfect fit because, “I’m brassy and bold and everything that she should be.” I would be 150% behind this.
If you love learning about the queens’ lives when they're not on stage, have we got a behind-the-scenes treat for you. Season seven's Mrs. Kasha Davis is the subject of an upcoming documentary called Workhorse Queen. I love Kasha and I cannot wait to check this out.
Our favorite queen from down under, Courtney Act, revealed that she and Bianca Del Rio were rule breakers during their season of Drag Race – specifically regarding the rule that the queen-testants weren't to talk to each other when the cameras weren't rolling. She shares that, with a little help from her friend Darienne Lake, “Bianca and I sat in the back like the naughty kids talking: ‘Oh then this happened and this happened and she said this and tomorrow I think this will happen.' That was always funny.”
Trixie and Katya get into astrology in this week's “UNHhhh”.
David Burtka (a/k/a Neil Patrick Harris‘ hubby) has a new book out, called Life is a Party, with tips and recipes designed to help you plan and execute the perfect get together. He teaches Willam how to make the perfect spicy Italian sausage in this video and, yes, it's a party.
Want more Willam? (Who doesn't?) In the latest installment of “Beatdown”, our rainbow-wigged fave hilariously drags the promotional video for a men's makeup line and a music video from “Man About Cake's” Joshua John Russell (fun fact: Joshua is my former boss' husband!)
There's the latest! Come back next week for more tea and enjoy another week of summer! Until then, everybody say LOVE!
