Hello, hello, hello and welcome to a busy week in the world of drag!
On Wednesday, the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 6 was announced and it’s one of the most diverse (and exciting) casts we’ve seen in a while. We also got to meet the queens competing to be Spain’s first drag superstar – both in and out of drag – and watch as a quirky and talented Sheila had to sashay away on Drag Race Down Under.
All of this and more from your faves, including Trixie and Katya, Willam, Jaymes Mansfield and more are here waiting to entertain you. SO, without further ado, let’s bring it to the runway!
As I mentioned, after weeks of speculation, the cast for Drag Race All-Stars season 6 was Ru-vealed. The 13 queens vying to join the elite circle of champions are A’Keria C. Davenport (Season 11), Eureka! (Season 9, 10), Ginger Minj (Season 7, All Stars 2), Jan (Season 12), Jiggly Caliente (Season 4), Pandora Boxx (Season 2, All Stars 1), Ra’Jah O’Hara (Season 11), Scarlet Envy (Season 11), Serena ChaCha (Season 5), Silky Nutmeg Ganache (Season 11), Kylie Sonique Love (Season 2), Trinity K. Bonet (Season 6), and Yara Sofia (Season 3, All Stars 1). All Stars will launch on Thursday, June 24, on streaming service Paramount+ with two all-new episodes. New episodes will then drop weekly along with a new season of Untucked. Reintroduce yourself to these queens, who are all winners already in my book (and, for the record, I am #TeamPandora.)
Also this week, we got to meet the queens of the premiere season of Drag Race España. If you don’t speak Spanish, you probably won’t get the full benefit of this video, but these queens’ colorful personalities and fierce looks are definitely worth a peek.
Once you’ve seen the Spanish queens in drag, you’ll want to see them out of drag, and this video does just that.
Moving over to the land of koalas and vegemite, the queens of Drag Race Down Under were challenged to create “Ru-cycled” fashions for the runway. Raja and Raven toot and boot the looks on “Fashion Photo Ruview.”
Yuhua Hamasaki and Drag Race Thailand’s Vanda Miss Joaquim provide their take on the looks and discuss which queens successfully turned trash into treasure on “Bootleg Opinions.”
The biggest surprise on last week’s Drag Race Down Under was the return of Art Simone. This crafty queen has a web series called (naturally) “Art Therapy.” In this episode, Art guides you through the creation of a gift box while talking friendship – with special guest Etcetera Etcetera.
Sadly, last week we had to say goodbye to the adorable Anita Wigl’it. On the latest “Drag Race Yearbook”, she talks about the judges’ critique of her recycled runway look, her lip sync against Karen from Finance and the return of Art Simone.
Anita’s fifth eliminated Drag Race UK counterpart, the fabulous Crystal, shares her elimination story and offers words of encouragement on “Losing is the New Winning.”
Season 10’s Kameron Michaels is the latest queen to show us around her drag room in “Out of the Closet.” This Nashville transplant talks about southern drag, being organized, where he draws his inspiration, his entrance look, his conceptualizing process and his affinity for villains. And, even though he claims, “nothing designer in here,” his closet overflows with amazing costumes and headpieces.
When BABE Wine needed a spokesperson for their “Wine for the Sumer We Deserve” campaign, the only choice was Drag Race season 13 finalist Rosé. BABE wants you to swap your quarantine sweats for wine (an easy switch, if you ask me) with a bubbly campaign where BABE and Rosé transport you to the magical and euphoric Summer We Deserve. “I’m so excited to be partnering with BABE Wine to kick off the Summer We Deserve. It truly is a match made in heaven!” said Rosé. “Get ready honey, ‘cause it’s out with the old, and in with the BABE! BABE Rosé, that is! Summer has officially begun!” All Summer long, BABE Wine will be donating $1 from every case of its limited-edition tie-dye rose cans to the ACLU Foundation. And, if you comment on BABE’s Instagram post here, you have the chance to snag some wine. 50 winners will be blessed with an 8-pack of BABE Rosé, and two lucky people will win a summer’s worth of BABE Wine.
From the runway to the West End, Willam takes us on a tour of her London dressing room where she is currently starring with Latrice Royale in the murder mystery comedy, “Death Drop.”
Keep the laughs going as Willam brings us another “Beatdown”. This time she watches as a hairdresser reacts to silver hair transformations, referees a fast food fight, roasts a (hopefully fake) anti-smoking ad and introduces us to a performer with truly dual personalities giving you the time of your life.
Trixie takes us on a tour of the Trixie Cosmetics warehouse and shows us some of the line’s latest products (that, like her other items, will suck my wallet dry.)
Waiting is this week’s topic on “UNHhhh” Who is the most patient, Trixie or Katya? Find out about this, as well as theme parks and role models.
From waiting to watching, Trixie and Katya screen and react to the second season of the sweet Netflix comedy Special on “I Like to Watch.”
It’s not a surprise that Trixie and Katya have a lot of fans. What might surprise you is what they say to their idols on social media. Enjoy as the pair read some of the best thirst tweets they’ve received.
Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change are back reacting to the fourth episode of the fabulous HBO series Legendary on the latest “Sibling Rivalry.”
Have you ever wanted to ask a drag queen a question? Bob and Monét take part in an AMA for Beauty Fest, answering fans’ burning questions.
New Las Vegas resident Jaymes Mansfield is back with another amazing wig transformation. Watch as she turns a Party City Wonder Woman wig into 1960s bubble flip hairdo you might see Phoebe Cates wearing in the classic flick Shag.
From hair to face, Jaymes gives a drag makeover to a bearded hottie. I do love a bearded queen and Zaddy looks fabulous.
Our Drag Race UK champions, The Vivienne and Lawrence Chaney, take a look at the Zack Snyder Las Vegas zombie heist movie Army of the Dead on their latest “I Like to Watch.”
Another Eurovision competition is in the books, and in this video Drag Race UK season 2 queen Tia Kofi counts down her top 10 Eurovision divas.
Tia’s castmate Cherry Valentine is a Cosmo Queen, showing how she achieved a truly spooky look.
And that wraps up another busy week in the Drag Race universe. Until we meet again, stay healthy, stay safe and say LOVE!
